The role:
The successful Senior Commercial Litigation Paralegal’s responsibilities will include:
- Working in a senior capacity to supervise and delegate work to the team’s paralegals.
- Managing and coordinating projects and competing deadlines across multiple cases.
- Work independently or as part of a team on all paralegal aspects of assigned cases and hearings.
- Advising fee earners teams on best practice approach to procedural and administrative aspects of cases including legal filings, document productions and hearings.
- Undertaking exhibit preparation and quality-checking as well as uploading of finalised materials.
- Filing arbitration and court documentation.
- Maintaining hard-copy and electronic case files as well as procedural correspondence.
- Cite-checking and proofreading drafts.
- Liaising with third-party vendors including logistics for the organisation of in-person, hybrid and virtual hearings.
- Attending arbitration and court hearings to provide paralegal and logistics support.
About you:
The ideal Senior Commercial Litigation Paralegal will have around five years’ arbitration/litigation experience, along with:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Someone who enjoys a fast-paced working environment and has the ability to manage competing deadlines and expectations.
- Demonstrable understanding of legal terminology, legal principles and the procedural aspects of arbitration.
- Additional language skills would be advantageous, e.g. French, Spanish or Arabic.
- Prior experience managing more junior paralegals.
- Team player who is supportive of, and can work closely and proactively with, colleagues across multiple offices.
- Professional approach and an ability to represent the Firm to external clients.
- Excellent organisational and timekeeping skills.
- High level of attention to detail to produce accurate and error-free work.
- Willingness to travel on Firm business where required.
