Overview: 

Our client is a leading Magic Circle firm, who are looking to recruit a Senior In-House Employment Lawyer join their ER team in London.
The Role of a Senior In-House Employment Lawyer
 
This role sits within the firm’s UK based ER team. Currently, the team consists of 2 employment lawyers (1 Senior Employment Lawyer and 1 Employment Lawyer) and 1 ER Advisor. The role is a maternity cover for the Senior Employment Lawyer who is due to go on leave soon. 
 
The work is mixed and very varied. Although much of the work is domestic/UK based, there will be some global aspects too. The new hire will be expected to manage risk for the firm and support delivery against the firm’s strategic people priorities. 
 
Primary areas of focus are: 
  • advisory
  • employee relations
  • policy development and advice
  • risk management
  • training and development
 
The firm are happy to consider individuals who wish to work on a full or part-time basis.
 
To be considered for the Senior In-House Employment Lawyer role you must: 
  • be a qualified solicitor
  • have at least 5 years PQE+ within a regulatory/risk environment or at a similar firm
  • have an extensive experience dealing with contentious and/or non-contentious employment matters 
  • have detailed analytical skills
  • have high emotional intelligence
  • have the ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally
  • have a minimum 2:1 degree or equivalent
