A leading top tier intellectual property practice is seeking an experienced Trade Mark Attorney to join its highly regarded Trade Mark practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused UK Qualified Trade Mark Attorney to work with an enviable client base spanning global brands across a range of sectors to include: fintech, luxury goods, technology, media & entertainment, life sciences and consumer products.
The successful Attorney will join a collaborative and internationally recognised team known for delivering strategic, high-quality advice across the full spectrum of trade mark matters.
The Role
This newly created strategic hire will add immediate strength and depth to a highly reputable Tier 1 PATMA firm who pride themselves on the depth and breadth of their client relationships.
Responsibilities will include:
- advising clients on a broad range of contentious and noncontentious trade mark matters.
- UK and international trade mark clearance, filing, prosecution and portfolio management
- Oppositions, cancellations and enforcement matters
- Brand protection and anticounterfeiting strategies
- Advising on IP aspects of commercial transactions and marketing campaigns
- Handling disputes before the UKIPO and EUIPO
- Managing global trade mark portfolios and coordinating with overseas counsel
- Supporting business development initiatives and contributing to client relationships
- Mentoring junior team members and assisting with team development
Applications are welcomed from qualified UK Trade Mark Attorneys with:
- Significant post qualification experience (5 PQE+) gained within a recognised private practice (PATMA) IP team, full-service law or specialist firm.
- Previous mentoring or supervisory experience would be advantageous.
- Strong technical knowledge across UK and international trade mark law.
- Experience handling complex portfolio management and contentious matters.
- Excellent communication and client management skills.
- A commercial and strategic approach to client advice.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied caseload.
- A collaborative approach and enthusiasm for business development.
- Dual qualification as a solicitor and/or experience with designs, copyright or wider soft IP. matters would be advantageous but is not essential.
