Clearance & Collateral Management Lawyer

I am working on a new role within the EMEA Markets team of a global bank, specifically within Clearance and Collateral Management.  The successful applicant will be one of the more senior members of the team and will be able to work with autonomy and exposure to senior stakeholders in the business.  The client has a preference to fill this role in either their Manchester or Edinburgh office but could also be open to applicants for their London office.

Your Key Responsibilities will include:-

  • Providing legal advice and assistance on new products and product development;

  • Initial point of contact/support for designated product lines, including attendance at business acceptance committee and trustee committee meetings as applicable; 

  • Negotiation of documents, to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures promulgated by the Legal Department; 

  • Structuring of collateral management transactions, the preparation, maintenance and negotiation of all contract templates, including ensuring that templates remain compliant with local law and regulation; 

  • Negotiating contracts, including Collateral Management Agreements and related legal controls;

  • Advising on legal aspects of developing new products and the implementation of strategic and regulatory change across CCM in EMEA

This role is best suited to a lawyer with 7-10 PQE either in-house or private practice.  Experience in Collateral Management, Custody or Prime Brokerage and a working knowledge of Markets regulatory frameworks and familiarity with clearing and settlement activities would all be highly desirable.
