I am working with a unique business that specialises in the re-insurance of terrorism risk in London. You will be working directly with the General Counsel in a broad role that covers all matters that impact the business. This is a broad commercial role and no insurance experience is necessary.
Given the unique nature of the business you will be involved in meetings with the Government, Home Office, Treasury and other top industry figures within the insurance market. The role will cover a range of work from commercial contracts and NDAs, to IP and DP to regulatory and advisory. In this role a typical day could involve you working with the Government on how to define terrorism in legislation, then deciding on how best to invest millions of pounds in companies working on tactics to reduce terrorist threats followed by discussions with Homeland Security on removing radiological material from hospitals.
The client is looking for a lawyer ideally with 2-4 years’ PQE with commercial contracts. Public sector experience, experience with Government bodies or experience with the Government Legal Department would be a bonus but is not essential.
