A highly regarded City law firm is seeking a Professional Support Lawyer to join its Construction and Engineering team, with a focus on non-contentious work. This is a newly created role, ideal for someone looking to transition into a PSL or Knowledge Lawyer position, with no prior PSL experience required.
The Opportunity:
- Join a supportive and well-structured construction team known for working on high-profile, development-led commercial real estate projects across offices, hotels, residential blocks, and mixed-use schemes.
- The focus of the role is on training, education, and knowledge development — rather than purely technical expertise.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders, including the hiring partner, to shape and deliver the team’s internal training and knowledge agenda.
- Flexible working arrangements are available, including the option to work 4 days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and delivering the internal education and training programme across the construction group.
- Monitoring and sharing updates on legislative and case law changes.
- Supporting lawyers in accessing and applying know-how and best practice.
- Developing and maintaining a suite of precedents and guidance materials, including automation projects.
Candidate Profile:
- At least 4 years’ post-qualification experience in non-contentious construction (with some exposure to contentious matters).
- Strong interest in mentoring, developing others, and contributing to legal training and resources.
- Strong academic background is essential.
- Previous PSL or knowledge experience is not required – this role would suit someone looking to make their first move into this space.
