** Data Protection Associate, 1-6 PQE **

Our client is the legal arm of one the largest global accountancy firms. They are looking for a data protection lawyer to join their FS Law team in London. The role is client facing and will report to Senior Manager in the FS Law team. The team works across all financial services sectors, including banking, wealth and asset management, and insurance.
 
To qualify for the role, you will ideally have
  • At least 1-6 years PQE;
  • Experience working in a leading UK City or Regional law firm or equivalent professional services firm;
  • Practical experience within the financial services industry (either through secondments, working in-house or prior career);
  • Willingness to learn new concepts with minimal guidance
Ideally, you’ll also have
  • A very good grasp of UK and EU data protection laws and regulations – including the GDPR and UK Data Protection Act;
  • Experience advising on broader data privacy and data ethics issues – including regulatory compliance, data processing, data breaches and investigations, cross-border transfers, e-privacy issues such as use of cookies, cyber-crime, data monetisation, and interactions with data protection authorities;
  • Experience providing legal transaction support (i.e., due diligence);
  • Experience working on large-scale, regulatory compliance and transformation programmes;
  • FS sector experience - specifically banking, wealth & asset management and/or insurance sectors.
