**** PART-TIME OR FULL TIME Data Protection role ****

We are currently recruiting for one of the largest international law firms in the world who are looking for a 3-5 PQE Data Protection Associate to join their team in London.

The team is very international and Top Tier ranked for Data Protection working mainly in the banking, retail, media, TV, start-ups and Tech sectors and increasingly doing AdTech work.

The team is made up of 3 Partners, 2 Senior Associates, 4 Associates, 1 NQ and a trainee. Associates in the team advise on the full range of Data Protection matters including data transfers, marketing consents, intragroup agreements, data and cyber breaches and some corporate support (e.g. drafting warranties).

This role could be part-time (4 days/week) for the right person, and they would also consider someone based in the regions who could commute to London once or twice a week.
People with a broader background but interested in specialising in data protection will also be considered.

Candidates who have between 3 and 5 years' PQE are likely to have the right level of knowledge and have gained the right level of experience needed to be able to undertake this role. 

Candidate attributes and experience which would be preferrable but not essential:

  • Advising clients on a range of Privacy / Data Protection documentation and legal matters;

  • Working within a top tier UK or international firm;

  • Strong academic track record;

  • Experience gained in house within an industry leading organisation would be beneficial;

  • Managing global privacy compliance frameworks covering multiple privacy laws (e.g. GDPR, CCPA, CPPA, LGPD, etc.);

  • Cyber risk and data breach / dealing with the DPAs;

  • Data transfers;

  • Data localisation;

  • Adtech, consumer data exploitation and strategy;

  • Internet of Things and connected devices;

  • DSAR and Individual Rights;

  • DP Audits and risk assessments;

  • Direct Marketing;

  • HR data compliance.
