This magic circle law firm with a Tier 1, award-winning, international asset finance practice is looking for junior and mid-level Associate to join its Asset Finance team in London. They are known for their extensive experience across all sectors of the asset finance industry, with specialists in the aviation, shipping and offshore markets. Their client base includes banks, financiers, funds, owners, airlines, lessors, manufacturers, captive finance companies, operators, borrowers, lessees, export credit agencies and government organisations.
Role and responsibilities
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating documentation
- Managing and co-ordinating large, multi-jurisdictional transactions
- Liaising with colleagues throughout the network (particularly in Europe, Asia and the US)
- Strategically advising clients in meetings, on the phone and by email
- Managing client expectations and project delivery appropriately
- Building relationships with clients (both on and off deal) and assisting with and implementing business development initiatives
- Legal research
Key requirements
- Qualified lawyer 1+ PQE
- Strong technical knowledge of the legal framework surrounding asset financing and general financing transactions
- Outstanding academic credentials
- Intellectual curiosity and versatility
- Self-starter with the desire and ability to continuously acquire, build upon and share knowledge
- Detail-focused and self-motivated approach
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Excellent client relationship skills
- Sound experience of operating at associate level within a complex international organisation
- Strong commercial/business acumen with the ability to deliver creative and pragmatic solutions and advice
