Private Equity Senior Associate/Associate Director, 6-7 PQE

Our client is a mid-size UK and international law firm looking for a Senior Associate/Associate Director to join its highly regarded Private Equity team in London. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-respected team, known for having an entrepreneurial outlook and approach, and work on exciting deals both nationally and internationally.

The practice

Their Private Equity team provides advice throughout the investment lifecycle, from deal structuring to exit. They provide results-focused, legal advice in leading private equity and growth capital transactions and advise on all aspects of investments such as buy-outs, exits, growth capital, operational issues, portfolio acquisitions, setting up new funds and structural issues.

Their transactional private equity practice approaches the market with three distinct offerings: their financial sponsor offering targets the private equity houses for new platform investment work as well as portfolio bolt on's and exits; their family office offering targets high net worth's and family offices investing into unquoted stocks taking control or non-control stakes; and their management advisory team works with management teams, typically on larger mandates outside the traditional investment size of our financial sponsor clients.

The London Private Equity team is made up of 6 Partners, 1 Associate Director, 2 Senior Associates, 7 Associates and 1 Trainee Solicitor.

Technical skills and experience

The right candidate will have in-depth and specific knowledge and experience of the full spectrum of Private Equity transactional work which will have been gained at a firm with a strong reputation in this area. Due to the nature of the work and the structure of the team, they are looking for a Senior Associate/Associate Director, although they will consider candidates with more or less experience. The successful candidate will also be expected to exhibit a willingness to participate in, and propensity for, business development activity and will have an existing network of contacts at private equity funds and intermediaries which they can exploit, thus helping them grow their already extremely successful practice which has seen significant year on year growth over the past six years.
