Reporting into the General Counsel (based in Hong Kong), you will take a senior role in UK property legal matters.
The role:
This is a hands-on position covering the full spectrum of commercial property work, including:
- Drafting and negotiating leases, sale and purchase agreements, development and planning documentation, construction contracts, consultant appointments, property management and financing agreements
- Preparing tenancy documentation and supporting asset management activity
- Managing and advising on acquisitions and disposals, including due diligence and title investigation
- Overseeing litigation proceedings relating to property matters
- Advising on company secretarial and insurance issues
- Assessing legal risk and providing strategic advice to the Group GC
- Managing relationships with external counsel and overseeing external legal spend
In addition, the role will:
- Act as the organisation’s Data Protection Officer
- Serve as the internal lead for KYC and AML matters
- Manage a Senior Paralegal, with potential future responsibility for an additional administrative team member
About you:
- 12+ PQE with strong commercial property experience
- Background in private practice or in-house within property, real estate investment or development
- Strong technical drafting skills
- Commercially minded with the confidence to operate autonomously
- Comfortable managing external advisers and internal stakeholders
- Experience or willingness to take on Data Protection and AML/KYC overview responsibilities
