The Opportunity
This role sits within a well-established and ranked trade mark practice, working closely with senior Trade Mark Attorneys and the wider IP team. The successful candidate will advise on a broad range of trade mark and design matters, supporting clients across industries including fashion, entertainment, e-sports, e-commerce, media and technology. You will be involved in high-quality, often cutting-edge work, including non-traditional marks and emerging brand protection issues, and will be given early responsibility within a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising on registrability and filing strategy
- Drafting trade mark specifications
- Conducting clearance searches
- Managing UK and international trade mark and design portfolios
- Handling objections, oppositions and cancellations
- Preparing evidence, submissions and reports
- Instructing and coordinating overseas counsel
- Drafting and reviewing coexistence and related agreements
- Managing assignments, recordals and audits
- Supporting client reporting, billing and relationship development
- Newly qualified to 1 year PQE Chartered Trade Mark Attorney
- Highly organised, detail-oriented and commercially minded
- Strong client-facing and communication skills
- Enthusiastic about trade mark law and career development
