I am working with a global business that is looking to hire its first Employment lawyer. The role is based in the their London HQ and you will be the specialist Employment lawyer in a team of 4 other more generalist lawyer. This role reports directly to the Deputy GC and will involve regular exposure with the HR Business Partners and wider business.

As you will be the first Employment lawyer for the business they are looking for someone who is very hands-on, commercially minded and prepared to get stuck in. The role is very broad covering general advisory, strategy, leading on future projects such as hybrid working and policy review as well as providing training to the HR team and Senior Leadership Team.

The role is primarily non-contentious and any contentious work you will be able to use external counsel, so if you have little/no contentious employment experience that is not a barrier for this role.

The ideal candidate will be a Lawyer with at least 4 years of experience working in the UK as an Employment law specialist. You should be comfortable becoming the primary contact for all things employment related for the business and be able to work very commercially with the wider business.
